Max Kade Travel Grant Checklist

Reimbursement

Please remember that you need to keep all receipts and bills for documentation.

  • You must submit your financial report and academic report 30 days after you return, but no later than December 31 of the year your travels took place. We are unable to process your financial reimbursement if we don’t receive the academic report at the same time
  • Please include the address your check should be mailed to.

Remember that the Max Kade Travel Grant is only valid for travel expenses.

Documentation

All receipts must be submitted electronically to cgees@brandeis.edu or in person to the CGES administrator.

  • Please make sure to keep one copy of all the documents for your own records.
  • No airfare will be reimbursed if the expense report is not accompanied by the receipt issued with the ticket, which must include the traveler's charge card account number, or note that remittance was made in cash.
  • Include your boarding pass stub(s) for your airline travel (for each flight) with each travel expense report.
  • Please provide a summary sheet identifying each expense and the USD amount.

If you have prices in foreign currency, please use this currency converter website. Once you converted the foreign currency online, please print out the online conversion page(s) and attach to your receipts.

Expense Report

As soon as possible after the conclusion of each trip (one month after the return date at the latest), all travel expenses with supporting documentation, should be submitted to the CGES office.

Fellow Traveler Expenses: Expenses incurred by another person accompanying the traveler will be the responsibility of the other person or the traveler and neither will be reimbursed by Brandeis University nor the CGES.

Within 30 days of your return a Financial Report and your Academic Report are due to the CGES office, no later than Dec. 31, 2019.

The Center for German and European Studies expects to receive a copy of any publications (dissertations, syllabi, essays, articles, thesis, etc.), which are a result of the received Center and/or Max Kade grant.

The Center for German and European Studies at Brandeis University and the Max Kade Foundation must receive credit in every publication (dissertation, syllabus, essay, article, thesis, etc.), which is a result of the received Center and/or Max Kade grant.
