'Remember Fear of Failure Will Lead You Nowhere'
While Brandeis' newest graduates celebrated their academic achievements and contemplated their futures, they were encouraged to follow their dreams despite the fear of failure during the university’s 65th commencement ceremony.
Speaking before more than 7,000 students, faculty, families and friends at the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center, Julieanna L. Richardson '76 offered graduates this advice: have passion, purpose and a plan; hold on through life's darkest moments; mentor others; and go forth and do good.
"Remember fear of failure will lead you nowhere," Richardson said. "It is not an option because failure is often the teacher of life's lessons and from which you will achieve your greatest glory."
