Boston Jewish Education Roundtable

Boston is unusual both in its commitment to Jewish education and in the richness of its communal resources devoted to Jewish education--our people and our institutions. We have a wealth of human, institutional and intellectual resources. We believe that this is both an opportunity and a responsibility. How can we face common challenges cooperatively? Where are there opportunities for collaboration and for communal growth?

Goals for the initial meeting:

  1. to build community, post-COVID and especially post-October 7;
  2. to learn from each other (at least the limited number of people in the room) about what other institutions and organizations are doing, in the Jewish educational space, and what challenges they are facing;
  3. to begin to envision ways that we might work together on a common agenda (but modestly, rather than imagining a grand initiative emerging from the conversation).

A select group of Boston area educators met in March 2024 to launch this initiative
