Application Instructions
To be considered by the selection committee for the Mortimer Hays–Brandeis Traveling Fellowship, candidates must be nominated by the institution from which they received their undergraduate degree. Each institution can nominate up to 3 students.
The deadline for applications will be set by each undergraduate institution. If you are nominated by your undergraduate institution, your institutional representative will provide you with the application form.
Please download this practice application form (PDF) to submit to your institutional representative. In addition to the application form, submit the following items directly to your institutional representative:

One official or unofficial copy of each undergraduate and graduate transcript.

Two letters of recommendation from individuals who know you and are in a position to discuss the merit and viability of your project and your ability to complete the project successfully. Download the letter of recommendation form (PDF).
- The final application is due by March 14. Please contact your institutional representative for the final application form.
For candidates submitting proposals in the visual arts or art conservation only:

Please submit work samples directly to your institutional representative.
Fellowship awards are confirmed no later than mid-May of the year in which the fellowship is scheduled to begin.
