Celebrate Our Track Champions!
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
We thought you'd want to know that Brandeis is excelling not only in the lab, the classroom and the community, but also, importantly, in sports. This weekend, Emily Bryson '19 swept the field and won the women's 3000-meter race at the NCAA Division III Track and Field championships. We invite you to read about Emily's success in a profile written last year in the Boston Globe.
In addition to Emily winning the national title in the 3000, the distance medley relay team of Emily, her twin sister Julia Bryson '19, Doyin Ogundiran '19, and rookie Lisbeth Valdez '21 finished third, earning All-America honors.
Graduate student Irie Goude finished eighth in the 200-meter run to also earn All-America honors. Earlier this month, Irie was named Most Outstanding Runner from the 2018 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championship.
Six all-America awards and a national championship is a tremendous weekend for the Judges! Please join us in congratulating our outstanding track and field athletes.
We invite you to join in celebrating these achievements on Wednesday, March 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Sherman Hall in Hassenfeld.
All the best,
Ron Liebowitz
President, Brandeis University
