Requesting Vendor Space

Throughout the year, a variety of vendors visit our campus, offering everything from jewelry and scarves to posters, and plants. Stop by the Shapiro Campus Center Atrium on weekdays to explore and discover unique items for sale!

Information for vendors

Interested in selling or promoting products or services at the Shapiro Campus Center? Contact the Department of Student Engagement at studentengagement@brandeis.edu or 781-736-5065.

Please note that vendors must meet insurance minimums in order to come to campus, including carrying General Liability Insurance of at least $1M per occurrence & $2M general aggregate. Vendors must also carry Auto Liability Insurance of at least $1M if driving on campus. Brandeis University must be listed as the Certificate Holder and as Additionally Insured. All vendors are required to follow Brandeis University's Space Use Policy

The Department of Student Engagement charges a fee for vendors to come to campus. Department-sponsored services must be affiliated with a Brandeis University Department or Program.

  • Poster Sales: 20% commission from sales
  • Other Products and Services: $60
  • Department-Sponsored Service or Program: Free

Fees are generally paid on the day of or, in the case of commissions, a check may be mailed to the Department of Student Engagement.

Tabling and Sales Guidelines

Vendors are permitted to table in the SCC for the purpose of selling non-food items that are directly relevant to student life and personal use. Acceptable items include, but are not limited to:

  • Residence hall accessories: Please refer to this link for a list of prohibited items.
  • Personal items (e.g., jewelry, clothing, flags)
  • Decorative items

Prohibited Activities

Vendors are prohibited from the following activities:

  • Selling food, beverages, or other items that can be consumed.
  • Soliciting student or community member participation in personal services or activities external to Brandeis. This includes medical procedures, clinical trials, or forms of healthcare services.
  • Engaging in or promoting activities that could be interpreted as invasive, coercive, or not in the best interest of student well-being e.g. high pressure sales tactics.
  • Selling goods which are in direct competition with University contracted items (i.e, items found in the bookstore, and/or other on-campus stores, Hoot, Market etc.).
