Office of Study Abroad

The programs are run by Arcadia University and CET Academic Programs; coursework from the fall Midyear programs has been evaluated by the Office of Study Abroad and has been approved to transfer as credit to Brandeis University. Students must receive a grade of C- or better for a course to transfer. These programs are partners with Brandeis University, and Brandeis has sent members of the junior class on similar programs run by these trusted partners for many years.

Yes, all incoming Brandeis first-years are required to take the online writing assessment before they arrive at Brandeis. You will also sign up for a UWS course for the spring semester. During course registration in the fall, you will be able to remove this course.

Each program offers a limited number of scholarships that you may be eligible for. For more information about scholarships for a particular program, please contact that program.

Please contact the relevant program staff member (listed at the left) to discuss your eligibility for each program and the way in which current visa and travel restrictions may impact your ability to participate.

While the courses you take may count towards a major in the long run, it is recommended that first-years concentrate on completing Brandeis Core Requirements. It will not be possible to know if a course counts towards a major until you've completed the course and arrived on campus. If you have more questions, please speak with an advisor in the Brandeis Office of Study Abroad.

Brandeis has identified specific courses from these programs for transfer. Not all courses abroad are appropriate for transfer and any questions should be directed to the the study abroad staff. All students must follow regulations related to transfer credit as outlined by the Office of the Registrar and should note that courses taken prior to matriculation at Brandeis do not count towards Academic Residency Requirements. Arcadia and CET have experience working with students requesting accommodations and are happy to discuss your needs to help make study abroad possible for you. Please be in touch with them as soon as you know you will be requesting accommodations so that they can advise on what accommodations are possible and have time to prepare appropriate arrangements.

Religious, dietary, and other requirements can often be accommodated and do not preclude you from studying abroad. Please be in touch with program staff as soon as possible, and far in advance of your arrival, so that appropriate arrangements and reasonable accommodations can be made.
