The Real Estate concentration — unique among MBA programs in the Boston area — prepares students to analyze real estate investments and projects. Students work directly with large organizations in Boston and around the world on real estate development projects.

Careers in Real Estate Finance

Faculty Spotlight: Edward Bayone

Edward Bayone is the Earle W. Kazis Professor of the Practice of Finance and International Real Estate. He was CCO and executive vice president of BankBoston and its successor firm, FleetBoston Financial.

He serves on the board of Brightwood Capital Advisors, which manages several funds that provide credit to small and medium-sized businesses. At Brandeis IBS, graduate students have voted him "Teacher of the Year" four times.

Concentration Requirements

The MBA concentration in Real Estate is completed through 20 credits of courses (usually in two years) across the groups listed below. These credits may also be counted toward fulfilment of other concentrations or the MBA core requirements. Excess credits in foundation courses are counted toward the electives requirement.
