Since 2013, Brandeis University's test-optional policy has allowed applicants to decide for themselves whether their test results best reflect their academic ability and potential.

Test scores are just one factor out of many that the Admissions Committee considers in our application review process. When applying to Brandeis, students will indicate on the Common Application if they would like their SAT or ACT scores considered in the review of their application. All applicants will be considered for merit scholarships and academic programs available at Brandeis regardless of their choice to submit test scores.

Brandeis accepts self-reported exam scores* for admissions review. Applicants who self-report scores, earn admission, and choose to attend Brandeis will have to send their official scores via the testing agency or on an official school document before they can matriculate.

If you choose to submit official test scores, use the following Brandeis test codes:

  • SAT: 3092
  • ACT: 1802
Brandeis will not require the science section for the new ACT

*Students who are required to submit English Proficiency exams will need to submit official scores upon submission of their application.
