Ticketing FAQs

Safety and Security

For the safety and security of all guests, graduates, honorees, and members of the Brandeis community we have put in place several procedures and restrictions on items being brought in to the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center, and we have instituted a Clear Bag Policy for both the Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement ceremonies.

Upon arrival at Gosman Sports and Convocation Center guests will pass through metal detectors.

The following items will not be permitted in Gosman Sports and Convocation Center:

  • Balloons
  • Pets (service animals are permitted)
  • Visual obstructions such as signs, banners, or flags

  • Medically-necessary bags and small diaper bags
Bags Not Permitted

Protests, Demonstrations, and Disruptions

Brandeis is eager to preserve the ability for graduates and guests to celebrate commencement and fully participate in the ceremonies that commemorate their academic achievements. Institutionally, we also value broad types of expression and dialogue about difficult issues. We believe such expression can and should be conducted respectfully and with care for the rights of others. For community members wishing to engage in protest activities, the university has designated an area on the north side of South St. between Gosman and Mailman House. We remind everyone that structures are not permitted on Brandeis campus without permission and encampments are prohibited. All attendees should familiarize themselves with the code of conduct and policies, and understand our principles of free expression, including as they relate to harassment and intimidation. Individuals who violate our policies will be required to leave the premises.
