Automation Lab

The Automation Lab is a robotics and embedded systems workspace where faculty, students, staff, researchers, and other Brandeis community members can come to rapid-prototype electronic sensor data collection and actuation systems with rentable gear, step-by-step guides, and back-end equipment. To get to the lab, go to the library front desk, turn right, and go to the corner at the back right corner of Goldfarb.
We serve all ability levels—whether you’re an electronics guru and want to test out a sensor for your research, or if you have no electronics background and want to start by taking one of our weekly “intro to soldering” trainings. We have public-facing, web-hosted getting-started guides for each sensor and actuator in our rental catalogue with links to parts and tools used as well as commented example code.
