Steven Goldstein founded Garden State Equality, which is leading the fight to legalize same-sex marriage in New Jersey. The organization has 55,000 members and four offices. He is also studying to become a rabbi at Philadelphia’s Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
Martin Alintuck served as director of communications and principal spokesperson for the USA Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai this year. He has also worked as managing director for China for Edelman Public Relations and managing director in Shanghai for Burson-Marsteller.
James Hicks serves as police chief in Bedford, Mass. He entered law enforcement as a campus police officer and joined the Waltham Police Department in 1986.
Alice Julier is an assistant professor and director of the new master’s program in food studies at Chatham University in Pittsburgh. The program teaches students about the food system, food culture, food science, sustainable agriculture and culinary arts.
Robert Strickland of Bellevue, Wash., was named president of Atigeo after serving as senior vice president and chief information officer of T-Mobile.
Brian Saber of Maplewood, N.J., launched a web-based company, www.askingmatters.com, to help teach board members how to fundraise and motivate them to ask for gifts.
