In December, Phil Lacombe graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with master’s degrees in community planning and historic preservation. Jessica (Wood) Fedorka just completed her master’s in physician assistant studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Beth (Bowman) AlFayad writes, “I got married to Mohammed AlFayad of Damascus, Syria, in July 2012. We met in Damascus, where I lived for several months after graduation. Many fellow Brandeisians attended the wedding in Rochester, N.Y. I was recently elected the executive director of the Nawal Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit dedicated to ending all violence in the name of Islam and promoting patriotism among Muslim-Americans.” Joyce Wang and Matt Lawrence were married on Sept. 16, 2012, in Boston. Caitlin (Smith) Pitt graduated in December from the University of Michigan with a master’s of social work in interpersonal practice with children, youth and families. Arielle Kaplan was accepted to the month-long Shakespeare & Company acting intensive at the troupe’s historic campus in Lenox, Mass.
