Karen (Glassner) Abrahams reports she has not directed a blockbuster feature film, climbed Mt. Rainier or written a bestseller ... yet. After a fulfilling career as a teacher in bilingual elementary-school classrooms, the Newton, Massachusetts, resident is a volunteer who teaches Spanish and helps immigrants. She and her husband, Richard, have two children, Marisa and Benjamin. Dennis Donoghue’s memoir, “The Final One Eighty,” chronicles his last year of teaching sixth grade in a public school. The book was published by Adelaide Books in May. Blair M. Eig, MA’77, became president and CEO of the Maryland Patient Safety Center in July. David Orentlicher in June won his primary election to become the Democratic nominee for a seat in the Nevada Assembly. With no opposition in the general election, he takes office in November for a two-year term. He served in the Indiana legislature from 2002-08. Lary Stromfeld, a partner and member of the management committee at law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, was recognized in the 2020 Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business listing for his work in capital markets and derivatives.
