Katani

Katani began performing publicly at family gatherings when she was only five years old. More recently she has performed regularly as a featured soloist with the Boston Pops Gospel Choir, as the anthem singer for the Boston Celtics and as a featured soloist for the annual production of Black Nativity.
Perhaps most well known for her ten year run as the emcee for the Gospel Brunch at the Original House of Blues in Harvard Square, Katani has also performed background vocals for R&B great Chaka Khan, gospel star Daryl Coley and pop diva Mariah Carey. As a certified Reading Teacher, and long-term educator, Katani looks forward to using her musical gifts to make literacy skills accessible to marginalized and disenfranchised students.
