Cross-Registration

NEW!  -  Boston Language Consortium Courses for Fall 2023

The cross-registration form will be available from Friday, Nov. 22 - Tuesday, Jan. 28. Upon completion of the form, a signed cross-registration form as a PDF attachment will be sent to your email address within 2 - 3 business days. Students without a Sage ID should include their Workday Student ID on the form.

Full-time Brandeis students enjoy cross-registration privileges with area colleges that participate in the consortium. Under this program students may earn credit toward their degree without payment of additional tuition through satisfactory completion of courses taken at these neighboring institutions. All students (and especially first-year undergraduates) are strongly encouraged to discuss the additional challenges and responsibilities of cross-registration with their advisor before starting the cross-registration process.

Brandeis is supportive of students supplementing their academic experience by cross-registering at these schools. Although Brandeis will provide academic advising with regard to cross-registration, it cannot provide transportation to these campuses.

  • To be eligible to cross-register, undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours in Brandeis courses — a cross-registered course may be the fourth or fifth course in a student's program. Cross-registration courses and grades will appear on your Brandeis transcript; however, grades earned in cross-registered courses are not factored in the calculation of a student’s GPA. Please contact the registrar's office for information on how cross-registration courses count toward residency requirements.
  • Graduate students must be enrolled in a full-time course of study at Brandeis to be eligible to cross-register.
  • Students may only cross-register for one course per semester.
  • Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the consortium school.

Note: Due to differences in academic calendars among the colleges in the consortium, it is not advisable for graduating seniors to enroll in a cross-registered course in their final semester.
