NFO August 2024

LATTE page for 2024 New Faculty Orientation

Welcome to Brandeis!

The New Faculty Orientation (“NFO”) will take place in-person August 20th through 23rd, from 9:30am - 2:00pm each day (including lunch!).

The NFO is led by Marty Samuels, the Director of Brandeis’s Center for Teaching and Learning, and will feature many of our extraordinary colleagues from across campus. We can’t wait to meet you in August! In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to Marty with any questions or concerns.

The NFO is located in the Rapaporte Treasure Hall (which is the big room on the first floor of the Library).

As you can see from the schedule below, each day provides different workshops, tours, and panels designed to help introduce you to the Brandeis community and resources, and to help set you up for success:

NFO schedule, from Tuesday, August 20th, through Friday, August 23rd, from 9:30 am to 2 pm each day.
[There is no need to come for breakfast, but we will be there every morning with food if you’d like to come early!]

As we’ll be ordering food for the NFO, please RSVP at your earliest convenience and let us know of any dietary restrictions so that we can plan more effectively. (And if you would like to join a 45-60 minute campus tour led by a Brandeis student on Wednesday, Aug 21, please indicate your interest here.)

**We’d also like to highlight Moodle (LMS) workshops (over Zoom) designed to introduce faculty to using our LMS and course pages, which are led by the Library's two Instructional Technologists, Ben Woupio and Wayne Smith.

**In addition, please be on the lookout for New Faculty Benefits Orientation Webinars, including information on health and retirement benefits from HR.
