Brandeis Counseling Center

Urgent Concerns

If your need is urgent during the regular academic year, we offer Urgent Care hours Monday-Friday. Please call the front desk to schedule.  781-736-3730

Our urgent care services are not meant to be drop-in counseling for non-emergencies.

The Brandeis Counseling Center (BCC) is aware that situations requiring immediate attention can exist for students. The BCC is able to provide same-day services in response to such events (i.e., serious mental illness, current or recent traumatic experiences, and life-threatening circumstances).

Urgent care can be used for the following issues:

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Other concerns for personal safety

  • Thoughts of harming another person

  • Recent assault or abuse

  • Recent death or traumatic loss

  • Recently witnessed or experienced traumatic event

  • Immediate risk of dropping out of school

  • Impaired daily functioning

If your issue does not fit into one of the categories above, please schedule a regular appointment.

Call the front desk at 781-736-3730 to schedule a meeting with one of our clinicians for urgent care and intake appointments, in order to receive recommendations about the type of services that will best meet your needs.

If your circumstances don’t warrant urgent care, but you are feeling that you could use an evaluation at the next available evaluation time, you can contact us to make an appointment.
