I chose Brandeis International Business School because of its rigorous curriculum, strong focus on corporate finance and emphasis on experiential learning. The student body is diverse and the international perspectives on campus aligned with my career aspirations in the financial services industry. Additionally, the International Business School’s location near Boston, a financial hub, provides unparalleled access to industry professionals, networking opportunities and internships.
The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at Brandeis is rigorous, well-rounded and highly relevant to the demands of today’s financial world. It offers a strong foundation in quantitative finance while providing opportunities to specialize in areas like private equity, fixed income securities and corporate financial modeling. They also organize networking events, career fairs and industry panels, creating opportunities to connect with leading employers. The school’s alumni network is active and supportive, which further enhanced my career development.
The highlights of my time at Brandeis combined social engagement with professional growth. Fun social events like the Boston Harbor cruise provide fantastic opportunities to connect with peers, faculty and alumni in a relaxed setting. These moments were not only enjoyable but also instrumental in building a strong professional network. Social gatherings and community events fostered camaraderie and created a sense of belonging, making my time at Brandeis both rewarding and enriching.
My time at Brandeis provided a comprehensive foundation for my career in finance by combining academic rigor with real-world application. Advanced courses like Options and Derivatives and Fixed Income Securities enhanced my technical proficiency. Beyond academics, the MSF program emphasizes practical experiences, such as case competitions and simulations, which helped me apply classroom knowledge to solve complex financial problems. Working alongside a globally diverse cohort refined my cultural awareness and teamwork skills, both of which are critical in today’s interconnected business world. These experiences have prepared me to make data-driven decisions and contribute effectively in professional settings.
My advice to prospective students is to fully engage with the resources and opportunities available at Brandeis. Build relationships with your professors, who are industry experts, and take advantage of the school’s career services.
