Faculty-Student Snack and Chats

The Faculty-Student Snack and Chat program is designed to help students meet with their professors and TAs informally outside of class to learn more about each other and each other’s interests.

To help facilitate these conversations between students and their faculty, the CTL has set aside a room in the Library stock full of snacks that faculty can sign up for to meet with their students.

  • To find available times for the Faculty-Student Snack and Chat Room, please see here.
  • To reserve the Faculty-Student Snack and Chat Room for an hour, please click here.
Please note that we want everyone across campus to be able to use this room as much as they’d like, so please be considerate when signing up so that we can share the space efficiently with others.

Some faculty announce the program in class, and ask students to “sign up”; others send an email to a few students and invite them privately. Some students may want to invite a professor (or a TA) to have coffee and snacks with them. Either way is fine! Our aim is to help students know that faculty are interested in getting to know them as individuals.
