Lawrence H. Schiffman, MA’70, PhD’74, has taught in the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University for more than 45 years. A Festschrift in his honor, titled “From Scrolls to Traditions,” has been published by Brill. Inspired by Lawrence’s work on the Dead Sea Scrolls and Rabbinic Judaism, his former students, now colleagues, contributed articles on these topics and edited the book. Peter Skagestad, PhD’73, is the author of “Exploring the Philosophy of R.G. Collingwood: From History and Method to Art and Politics,” published by Bloomsbury Academic in November. John Weingart is associate director of Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics. Since 1974, he has also hosted a folk-music show called “Music You Can’t Hear on the Radio” on WPRB-FM, a not-for-profit commercial radio station in Princeton, New Jersey.
