Karen Devereaux Melillo, Heller PhD’90, received the 2020 Living Legends in Massachusetts Nursing Award from the American Nurses Association Massachusetts. Barbara Clarke, IBS MA’91, in July joined the board of advisers of Brandeis International Business School. David Jenkins, MA’92, PhD’98, has been appointed assistant director for resources and planning at the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management, based in Grand Junction, Colorado. In July, Joanne Aron, IBS MA’94, joined the board of advisers of Brandeis International Business School. Atar Hadari, MFA’94, received a PhD in theology from Liverpool Hope University. His thesis was on Jewish commentators in William Tyndale’s translation of Deuteronomy and its revisions in the King James Bible. Jon Liebetrau, MFA’94, was promoted to associate professor, performing arts, and granted tenure at Wilkes University, in Pennsylvania. A professional theater artist for more than 35 years, he is a member of the Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. Ling Zeng, MS’94, was appointed chief legal officer and secretary at Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, where he is a member of the executive leadership team. The compositions of Scott Brickman, PhD’96, P’16, professor of music and education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, were performed at an international music festival in Kwidzyn, Poland. His piece “Capriccio” received a prize from the Phasma-Music Foundation at the 2020 Kwidzyn Classical Music Awards. In November, Baruc Sáez, IBS MA’97, became CEO of Itaú Corpbanca’s banking subsidiary in Colombia. Robert Pease, IBS MA’98, has a podcast called “The Purple Principle,” which discusses whether political factions can find common ground between red and blue party lines.
