Elisa Albert is the author of “Human Blues,” a novel published by Avid Reader Press in July, which explores the dark side of the fertility industrial complex. Carol Allman-Morton is the director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College, in western Massachusetts. In 2018, Rebecca Cohen co-founded Brooklyn Book Bodega, a nonprofit that seeks to ensure all kids and families have books they want to read within arm’s reach. It has given out 150,000 books (and counting). Shinta Hernandez is the founding dean of the virtual campus at Montgomery College, in Maryland. Previously, she was chair of Montgomery’s Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice. In 2016-17, she received the college’s Outstanding Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching and Advising, and in 2018 she earned the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development’s Excellence Award.
